I work as a mindfulness based practitioner offering psychotherapy, wellness education, and contemplative expressive arts workshops. My approach honors the mind/body/spirit connection. I work intentionally to teach mindfulness practices to individuals of all ages, and to groups in public and private settings.
After spending more than 25 years in the corporate world in marketing and administration, I received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC44874) specializing in mindfulness based practices. I enjoy working with individual adults, children and families, and groups. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
I believe in teaching people skills they can use every day to improve the quality of their lives. Mindfulness based practices have helped thousands of people world wide achieve better physical, emotional, and mental health. I have attended professional training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in Mind-Body Medicine, with Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, and Saki Santorelli, EdD, as well as a Practicum in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction: Living Inside Participant-practitioner Perspectives led by Bob Stahl, PhD, at El Camino Hospital. I teach 8 week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction classes, which are modeled after the stress reduction program developed by Dr. Kabat-Zinn and colleagues at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center more than 25 years ago. Visit the Mindfulness for Well Being page for more information.
Recognizing our inherently spiritual nature, I have received professional training with practicum in spiritual direction through Mercy Center and have offered spiritual counseling to adult women, many of whom were incarcerated. I am a certified SoulCollage® facilitator. SoulCollage is a process utilizing images as a means of tapping into the inner wisdom of the individual and facilitating conscious awareness. Visit the SoulCollage page to view my gallery.
I also utilize the Mandala for Healing using techniques developed by Judith Cornell, Ph.D., who has certified me as a Mandala Facilitator. The mandala, or sacred circle, utilized for healing and spiritual practices in many cultures, is an outward expression of inner Divine Light. Visit the mandala page for more information.
